Last of the butterflies

This is the last card from the series of inspirational cards I made up at the lake this summer. These cards were made from a single, small box of supplies. It was fun to see what I could create with those supplies and just how many cards I could make!

I did not have a fine copic liner pen with me ...or any pen for that matter.  Not that we are home, I can not decide whether to draw on some antennae on the butterfly, or leave it as is...
I have left the sentiment blank. Once I know what I will use this card for (birthday, get well, hello, etc) then I will add an appropriate sentiment inside. I may even draw some antennae on at that time!

Here is a close up of the focal point. I kept it very simple...just a few diamonds scattered here and there on the DP and of course a row down the center of the chipboard butterfly.
Recipe
Card Base -  from my stash, Michaels Recollections brand square white textured card & envelope
DP - Prima Lyric
Cardstock - Kraft snippet from my stash
Chipboard - butterfly from my stash, bargain bins at Michaels
Bling - from my stash
Paint - ivory acrylic paint

I am entering this card in the following challenges
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. Sparkles - Fairies or butterflies

Hi Maureen a gorgeous card. The butterfly is gorgeous and love the mat its on! I am afraid I wouldn't trust myself to draw antennae on they would be too wonky!! Susan x

What a gorgeous card - love the colours and I don't think I'd draw the antennae on. I'd do it wrong!!!

A gorgeous card Maureen, you could always add a curly wire set of antennae.... Hugs, Anne x

You really got a lot of mileage out of your small box of supplies that you took to the lake. I've enjoyed every vintage card that you did. Love your cream butterfly with his sparkling body, against those posies. The pop of color against the black with the cream of the butterfly, looked so vintage & pretty. TFS

This is such a lovely card.
And oh how funny the conversation you had with little Mr. P about your "dad" picking you up!

Erin asked me the other day how I could be older than Mike (I am 15 months older) if he is taller than me :)

Maureen, the Fri nite Dylusion class was quite a stretch for me. I'm glad I took the thin gloves, that helped. I found that I needed to just not worry about how 'it would look', and just do whatever. Some of the pieces done were fantastic, mine was kinda 'so-so', but I was just happy to learn the techniques. I don't do scrapping, journaling, and I didn't put any fancy borders on mine, do any shading, etc. Just blobbed it all on, and it was great fun. My friend thought so too. Glad you enjoyed the piece posted, and if I can answer any questions (HA!) for you, will be happy to do so. Hugs

Gorgeous card Maureen. The butterfly is gorgeous with or without antennae - if it was mine he would be antennae-less because I'd just go and ruin it!!! Love from Christine xx

I think you did a great job creating such different designs with a limited variety of materials. Each card looks different! The scalloped edges of the card base work really well with the square panels and decorative frame for your butterfly.

Just beautiful! The black and white frame is a stunner. Pretty butterfly, too. I think I would just cut some antennae from cardstock or use wire because I would be sure to ruin my card if I started using a marker for it. LOL But, you seem pretty confident about it. Good for you.
